Count each piece of glass

A basic window with one piece of glass is 1 pane. Top and bottom sections are usually 2 panes.

Count the glass

If decorative grids are inside one solid sheet of glass, count it as 1 pane.

Patio Door

Most sliding patio doors have 2 large glass sections. Larger doors may have 3.

Irregular shapes

Arched, triangle, circle, or custom-shaped glass sections each count as 2 panes. If unsure, choose the closest range.

Windows with lots of small panes count 3:1

For French panes or many small individual pieces, count every 3 small panes as 1 regular pane.
